BIBLE STUDY – AUGUST 1, 2012

Where do you find “For he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him?” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Where do you find” Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”?
(Hebrews 2:17)

Where do you find “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day?” (2 Peter 3:8) Methuselah lived 969 years – 31 short of 1000 and yet but a day to God.

Who was Methuselah’s father? (ENOCH) What was the significance of his name? (AFTER HE DIES JUDGMENT) Genesis 5:27

During the antediluvian period (time between creation of the earth and the deluge) the earth had a greenhouse effect. Genesis 1:6 “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divided the wters from the waters.” People lived longer because of this bubble that protected the earth.

In the post deluvian period people dIed not live as long because of sin. Sin pierced the bubble.

QUESTION: How long were people to live?

When we first see blood being redemptive – Exodus 12  What faiths celebrate the Passover? – Judiasm and Christianity.  How do we celebrate the passover – communion. 1 Corinthians 11:23 “This do in remembrance of me” I have a lamb

In biblical times 2 goats were taken for the sacrifice.  Before the goat was sacrificed the sins of the people were pronounced over the goats.  Then 1 goat’s neck was slit and all the blood was drained from it and place on the living goat. (This was a shadow of what God would do  for us in Jesus)  This is also were the term scapegoat came from.

In order to pay the wage of sin something innocent had to die.  Jesus paid the debt off that we might go free.
In biblical times when a man was put in jail that would post his charges on the door of his cell.  When he served his time they would write :TETELESATAI, which in Greek meant Paid-In-Full.  John 19:30, “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” (PAID IN FULL)

What does EL ELYON mean?

How fast is a beam of light?

QUESTION: Where is it written about the Second Adam?
